Ben and Bethany’s Napa Wedding

A beautiful past few weeks of family time as we prepared for, and then enjoyed Ben and Bethany’s Napa (Calistoga) wedding. A great venue in a barn surrounded by vineyards with nearby houses to host the wedding party.

Ben and Beth both looked great! We were proud of the way they handled the stress while creating a day that was intimate & honoring to all who attended.
The barn was decorated to feel like a large family celebration dinner… a shadow of things past, and of things to come.
Dan Farrelly from the Bethel Church/School staff was the chaplain for the wedding.
Many of our San Antonio/Boerne family made it for the wedding. So fun to celebrate together. Nana was kicking it up on the dance floor more! Most of us stayed at the Bergson Inn in Calistoga. A quaint little hotel within walking distance to restaurants and shops. So grateful for the sunshine that came out for the day! Ben and Beth consulted the Farmer’s Almanac to choose the wedding date. Soggy ground, but clear skies!
One of the things that strikes me about this area of California is how beauty and excellence are everywhere. An example is this stone wall around a secluded hillside vineyard. The details of the stone masonry are exquisite.
Wedding party, family & friends all gathered together 2 nights before the wedding to hang out at an outdoor venue (Farm at Carneros) in Napa.
Family, Friends, Food, Wine and Fire, life is good.
So good to have my children around to hug and enjoy life… and we got to add another daughter!
Had to take the electric bikes along for the trip. Enjoyed exploring the Old Oat Mine trail in Calistoga and get my much needed alone outdoors time.
Scenic views from the Oat Mine trail in Calistoga.
My brother Jon and Erica joined us too. Gummyworm pizza for dinner… a Napa valley culinary treat 🙂
My sister Debbie came with my nephew Leif and stayed for a few days afterward. It was great to hang out and go for a walk in Calistoga.
Enjoyed another great meal at Farmstead in Saint Helena before heading back to Redding. I think next time we would like to stay in this town within walking distance of Farmstead. An especially beautiful place with amazing food.
Back to plenty of rain in Redding, with the occasional rainbow to remind us it will end soon.
Ben’s dogs have been waiting at the gate daily for some attention and ball chasing in the yard. They really miss him while he and Beth are in Norway on their honeymoon.
Bored on Saturday & decided to start re-working the cabinets around the main fireplace to allow for the TV to be mounted there. This next week will continue to work on the laundry/kitchen areas and some interior painting. We pulled the trigger on tickets to South Carolina to see some boats from 4/22 to 4/30. Hoping to find a boat we love and pull the trigger for the summer sailing season. The best adventures are still to come.
