Sunny in Redding (at last)

“Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.” (excerpt from 1 Corinthians 13:3-7 MSG)

Sunday morning, 44 degrees, Sunny, wind SE 2 mph

Looks like the rain has stopped for a while.  Good to have a break after almost 2 months of rain.  The camellia bushes are blooming like crazy, even in the cold.  Need to trim the rose bushes and fertilize them in prep for spring.  A beautiful time of the year to be here.

Air B&B rentals continue to be strong and Ben is getting some great business experience and income from the In-law quarters.  Ben showed Cindy and I a list of properties that have recently sold and are For Sale in the area & it was encouraging to see that there are some good comparisons for our property.  This was especially useful to help us make good decisions about how much to invest into this property before selling.  Seems like those properties with In-law quarters were selling quickly & hopefully that will translate into a quick sale for us.

Continuing to push forward on the Master Bed/Bath remodel with color on the walls early this week, and then mid week spent installing tile on the walls in the large walk in shower.  Also installed the bedroom door to close off the work area from the rest of the house, and began to install the floor warming system.

Parker and I are “batching” it for a few weeks while Cindy is helping her Mom get ready for moving her Dad back to the house.  Could be a long visit… hopefully things will go more smoothly than we imagine. We went out for a nice dinner on Tuesday night at Moonstone Bistro since she was leaving early Wednesday morning (4 a.m. rise for a 6 a.m. flight).  Forgot to take the flash off my phone camera & wound up blinding her as she was sipping her martini…

Lots of tiling details in the walk in shower, here working on the floor late week… finally finishing on Saturday.

Will catch up on some sailing videos today (Gone with the Wynns, Two Afloat, Off the Starboard Hull…etc.)  Good to take a day of rest and reflect on the goals and adventures ahead.
